Transportation of Dangerous
Goods Training
If your employees are involved in the transport of controlled goods, they need to be TDG trained.
This training extends to staff (even clerical) if they are involved in any of the following tasks:
- Arranging for the transportation of controlled goods
- Completing the shipping documents
- Loading the truck
- Driving the truck
- Unloading the truck
The Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act (TDG) became law in 1980 in order to protect emergency workers who may be called on to respond to emergencies in which dangerous goods were involved.

Course Details
This course is classroom intensive – approx. 4 hours of classroom instruction, followed by short exam to ensure that workers understand the important components of TDG legislation and their responsibilities under it.
Topics covered in the course include:
- What is TDG ?
- Worker Responsibilities Under TDG
- Employer Responsibilities Under TDG
- TDG Hazard Classes
- TDG Paperwork Management
Each participant will receive a TDG handbook &
pocket guide to keep. Successful participants will receive a certificate
(valid for 3 years). Note: Certificate must be signed by the employer
AND the participant to be valid.
