Did you know that in Alberta:

“An employer must ensure the operator of a lifting device, the rigger supervised by the operator and the person in charge of the lift are provided with all the information necessary to enable them to readily and accurately determine the weight of the load to be lifted,"

and

“An employer must insure that a lift calculation is completed for any lift that exceeds 75% of the cranes rated capacity”

Rigging Training 

Giving trade professionals a solid foundation in rigging safety by certified Crosby® certified trainers.

Course Overview

This training program is designed to provide trade professionals with a solid foundation in rigging safety. Program is based on Crosby® training materials by certified Crosby® certified trainers. Students will receive Crosby® training manual and Crosby® Users guide for lifting. The course consists of classroom theory with a written component and practical, hands on experience. Course content is delivered through an Instructional PowerPoint, Lecture, Practical Exercises. Learning is reinforced through workbooks and supplementary handouts.

Course Curriculum

Morning:

  1. Rigging Principles
  2. Loads on Rigging and the Rigging Triangle
  3. Inspection of Rigging
  4. Application of rigging hardware
  5. Application of rigging software (slings)
  6. Sling Inspections

Afternoon:

  1. Math Workshop Includes:
    • Load Estimation (Real World Examples)
    • Load and Sling Leg Calculations
    • Hardware selection based on above calculations
  2. Rigging Inspection (Practical)
  3. Load Calculation & Rigging Practice (Practical)
  4. Celebration of Learning (quiz)

Each participant will receive a detailed Crosby® rigging manual, Crosby® rigging reference card to keep. Successful participants will receive a certificate from Pro Safety Services (valid for 3 years).

Course Length: 8-10 Hours (min. class size 6; max. class size 20)

Course Cost: $275 + GST / Student (minimum of 4 students per course)
